SPLASH podcasts

SPLASH is developing a series of enhanced podcasts covering a range of key study skills (improving your writing, time management etc). These are audio files with images attached. There are transcripts of each tutorial available to download.

You can access them from anywhere (provided you have Quicktime installed on your computer).
Alternatively, you can download the podcasts or even subscribe so that you will receive future podcasts once they become available.

To get the podcasts, go to www.surrey.ac.uk/skills/splash/podcasts

For our series of podcasts on starting at university, go to www.surrey.ac.uk/skills/splash/stettling_in

Viewing podcasts via a computer

Once you have gone to the podcast page, you will have the option to 'Subscribe' to the series. For further instructions on how to do this, see the next section.

Each podcast has a title and brief description. Once you have decided which podcast you wish to access, simply click on the image next to the title and brief description.

This will take you to a screen such as this one.

Each podcast is divided into chapters. You can move through these using the arrow buttons. Alternatively, you can select the relevant chapter from the drop-down list (showing 'Start' in the screenshot).

Downloading the podcasts

To download the podcasts, you must have iTunes installed on your computer.

To download the most recent podcast, and to receive future podcasts, click 'subscribe'.
This will open up iTunes, and the most recent podcast will appear in your library. To download older podcasts, select the image of the podcast you have.
This will bring up a list of the podcasts that already exist, and next to each of these you will have the option to 'Get' any of these.
To download specific podcasts, click on the grey 'Get' button. Alternatively, select 'Get All' to download all of the podcasts.
