Group Work
Group work is central to lots of courses at university. Working effectively in groups is one of the skills employers most value, so it's a good skill to develop. However, it's not as easy to do well as it might seem. SPLASH offers both a space for groups to work together and an opportunity to get advice from members of staff on how your group can work more effectively.

SPLASH, based on the third floor of the Library, is a great place to work together. There is lots of space for groups, flexible furniture you can move around (within reason!), whiteboards and PCs and the whole space is wi-fi enabled. There are also group study rooms that you can reserve with plasma screens and data projectors.
You can also ask Student Learning Advisors for help with making your group work better. You can request an appointment, either as a group or on your own, to talk about how teams work together and how you can be as effective as possible and produce the best report or presentation you can.
Useful Websites
The LearnHigher Group Work site includes a series of videos demonstrating good (and less good) behaviour in groups. There are also handouts covering key issues such as agendas, organising yourselves and time management. There is even a mobile version of the site covering some of the key issues in a format you can see on your phone.
