Passwords for E-Resources
Most e-resources are password protected.
Please note: You will need to login separately to many electronic resources, even if you have accessed them via ULearn or TalisList.
1. Athens login
2. Secure Web Access from Anywhere
3. Individual Passwords
4. Resources not available off-campus
1. Athens login
Use your University username and password (the one that you use to login to e-mail), but first you need to set the Athens Cookie on your computer. (Open Access computer suites in the AP Building and the Library already have the cookie set)
If you prefer not to download the cookie, you may use the quick login.
For full details, see:
2. Secure Web Access from Anywhere Service
Only use this method when directed to do so. Go to http://remote.surrey.ac.uk, and use your University username and password (the one that you use to login to e-mail). Then click on the "Library Resources not usually available off campus" page for a list. Please ensure that the Realm box displays Active Directory before clicking on the sign in button.
3. Individual passwords
A few online databases and electronic resources require individual passwords. These are listed on a secure page. To open it, you will need your University username and password (the one that you use to login to e-mail).
4. Resources not available off-campus
There are some online resources that can only be accessed from computers on the University of Surrey campus, due to software restrictions. These include:
- Bloomberg (only available to School of Management staff and students from a terminal in the SoM building)
- Datastream (only available to School of Management staff and students from a terminal in the SoM building)
