You can browse e-book collections by searching within our different e-book packages, and some useful packages for Biosciences are listed below.

Remember, to find a specific title, you can search the Library Catalogue and then click on e-link to view the e-book. Many e-books can also be found by searching in Summon.

Ebrary
The University Library subscribes to the Academic Complete collection, which contains the full text of over 40,000 books, and which is added to regularly.

Technical information:
Please note that Ebrary requires a small additional program (plug-in) to be downloaded onto your computer in order to access some functions.
On campus: The plug-in should already be available on compters within Student Open Access suites on campus. For members of staff with MarkIV computers, the software has been packaged, and can be deployed on request to user-support@surrey.ac.uk
Off-campus: The plug-in can be downloaded quickly and easily from the Ebrary website the first time you login (PLEASE NOTE: The Ebrary plug-in is not recognised by proprietary browsers from Internet Service Providers such as AOL or BT Broadband - please use the standard Microsoft Internet Explorer browser instead).

Windows:Netscape Communicator 4.77,7.x or newer or Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.x or newer or Firefox 1.0 or newer (with latest ebrary reader)or Mozilla1.7 or newer (with latest ebrary reader). Netscape 6, Opera and other browsers are not supported.

Credo Reference
Credo Reference (formerly Xreferplus) includes 100 searchable encyclopedias, dictionaries (English and foreign language), thesauri and books of quotations, as well as a range of subject-specific reference books.

Methods in Enzymology.
This critically acclaimed and highly respected laboratory standard in biochemistry is published by Elsevier and now available electronically via Science Direct. Access is from 1995 onwards.
