Subject databases are online searchable collections providing access to a range of information including journal articles, newspapers, trade papers and statistics. Some databases link to the full text articles, others will only provide the reference. For more information see the Literature Searching guide or come to a drop-in, Monday to Friday in SPLASH on Level 3 of the Library or contact SPLASH for an appointment.
The simplest and quickest way to find good quality academic reading relevant to your lectures and assignments is to search for the online reading list using your module code. This will link you directly to eBooks and articles in eJournals as well as trustworthy websites. These lists can also be accessed via SurreyLearn.
Financial Times and The Economist have direct links on the database list and a range of national and international newspapers are available via the Nexis database. A digital edition of The Times (London) from 1785-1985 is also available.
