Using the Library

Module Reading Lists

All reading lists are now on the Online Reading List Management System hosted by the Library. It is the responsibility of the module convenor to maintain and update the list on a regular basis.

Reading lists must be added to this system and not added as a word document in modules on SurreyLearn or in the Module Catalogue.  Please contact your Faculty Engagement Librarian for information about building new lists.

Reasons to use the Online Reading Lists:

Students can view their online reading list via SurreyLearn with links to the catalogue, eBooks, articles in ejournals, web resources etc.

When you update and send your list for review we will endeavour to ensure materials your students need are made available in the Library and the Bookshop

Students and prospective students can view reading lists prior to enrollment on modules via the Library web pages.

You can add digitised content to your online reading list  e.g. book chapters or articles which will be copyright cleared for you by the University Library

For further information please see the guide on the right or contact your Faculty Engagement Librarian for further support and help getting started:

• Catherine Batson – FASS
• Adam Hill - FEPS
• Ellie Roberts – FHMS

Please note:  The reading lists on this system are to be the definitive reading lists and it will not be necessary to update lists elsewhere. From 2013/14  the module catalogue links to your online reading list.
