ERIE Complexity grant awarded

The Evolution and Resilience of Industrial Ecosystems (ERIE) grant has been awarded £3.2million by EPSRC. The bid is led by Prof. Nigel Gilbert, involving Drs. Rebecca Hoyle, David Lloyd and Anne Skeldon from the department of Mathematics, and will address a series of fundamental questions relating to the application of complexity science to social and economic systems. The programme of research aims to embed cutting-edge complexity science methods and techniques within prototype computational tools that will provide policymakers with realistic and reliable platforms for strategy-testing in real-world socio-economic systems. The other Co-Is are Drs. Lauren Basson and Angela Druckman (Centre for Environmental Strategy), Prof. Paul Krause and Dr. Sotiris Moschoyiannis (Computing Science).
