The Department of Mathematics values contacts with schools and colleges highly, and organises several events for students and teachers. Some examples of such events are shown below and in the previous events area.

Taster Days
We offer a Taster Day in University Mathematics as part of the Science and Engineering Summer School each July.
Surrey Schools Mathematics Challenge
The Department of Mathematics arranges an annual Mathematics Challenge for Surrey schools and sixth-form colleges, in conjunction with the Surrey Education Business Partnership. This event is always very popular, with about fifty teams of five Year 12 students attending.
Further Mathematics Support Programme
The Department is a participant in the Surrey Further Maths Support Programme. Study days and A-level enrichment activities will be held on campus during the coming year.
