- The Surrey MBA Summer school, an intensive one week programme that brings together current students and alumni with industry leaders.
The Executive MBA programme is delivered at monthly residential weekends held at Horsley Park, a specialist conference and training centre in the heart of Surrey. The programme is spread over four stages with a focus on working in small teams alongside individual leaning. You are encouraged to put what you learn into practice from the start and discuss your experiences with academic staff and fellow students.
Induction
Your first weekend gives an intensive introduction to the programme, the Surrey Business School and the MBA team. You will build your study skills, learn about academic referencing and further develop your ability for analytical thinking.
Foundation stage - Year one
Gives a grounding in business management and leadership covering core topics such as managing human resources and financial management. Develops your understanding of modern organisations exploring key narratives of the business world such as flexibility, dynamism, risk, sustainability and social responsibility.
Specialist stage - Year two
Allows you to tailor your MBA by studying three modules of your choice from a range of six. Learning is put into practice with a business simulation project and a team based consultancy project for a business. You have the option to base your studies around your own company.
Personal and professional skills workshops are delivered throughout stage one and two covering topics such as negotiation skills, strategic leadership and change management.
Dissertation
Your dissertation covers a subject of your choice and is the concluding stage of your studies. You will be supported by an academic supervisor throughout the process.
“I’ve really enjoyed the variety of subjects covered and the mix between individual and group assignments.”
