Prime Minister's decision on EU vote "just kicking issue down the road"
This long-awaited speech will not do anything more than kick the EU issue down the road a bit further, says UK Politics expert Dr Simon Usherwood.
Dr Usherwood said: "Again David Cameron has chosen to make future commitments (with much wiggle room), rather than engage head-on with his backbenchers, who are unlikely to accept talk of a 'new settlement'.
"Just as important will be the reaction of other political parties, especially Labour, which is more likely to be in office in 2015."
