Surrey graduate receives Royal Army Medical Corps Consultants' Prize

Colonel John Burgess, a University of Surrey graduate from the MSc Health Care Management Programme and now a visiting Reader in the School of Management, has been awarded the Royal Army Medical Corps Consultants’ Prize for his MSc dissertation looking at the prevalence of cold injury in Commonwealth soldiers.

The award is a silver medal and a purse of £250. One quote from the notification letter read: "I am pleased to advise you that the Reading Committee were unanimous in their decision to award you the prize for this outstanding piece of work". John and Dr Fraser Macfarlane, who was his supervisor for this research, have also been shortlisted for Military and Civilian Health Partnership Awards 2008.
