Media Invitation: Paralympic Pre Games Training Camp launch at the University of Surrey

The University of Surrey has been selected as an official training venue for athletes preparing for the Paralympic Games to be staged in London in September 2012. Further information will be unveiled at a press briefing at the Postgraduate Medical School, University of Surrey on Wednesday 11 June at 3.00 p.m. Senior representatives from the University of Surrey, South East England Development Agency and Surrey County Council will be revealing details of how the magnificent new facilities at the Surrey Centre for Sport will be used to help the preparation of British athletes at what will be the most important and significant time for sport in this country.
Nationally, the South East Region has secured more paralympic venues in the Training Camp Guide than any other region. Paddy Herlihy, the South East Regional Coordinator for the 2012 Games and national lead on paralympic matters will be present to deal with any media enquiries.
Nick Skellett, Leader of the Council, will be attending on behalf of Surrey County Council to support the South East Region's achievement and Surrey’s commitment to the Paralympic Games.
