Thursday 5 June 2008
Delivering everything from living more simply and the ethics of consumption to economic models and sustainable consumption policy, The Earthscan Reader on Sustainable Consumption by Professor Tim Jackson from the University of Surrey explores the various inequalities of modern living and its relative and resulting environmental impacts. The book brings together various diverse writings and research projects about consumption and outlines a number of suggested methods by which to attain sustainability in this area.
Tim is professor of sustainable development at Surrey and director of the ESRC Research Group in Lifestyles, Values and Environment (RESOLVE). Funded by the Economic and Social Research Council as part of the research councils’ energy programme, RESOLVE aims to unravel the complex links between lifestyles, values and the environment.
