Monday 12 May 2008
The University of Surrey is pleased to announce that it has entered into a formal association with GuilFest 2008. This association continues the University’s long involvement with the performance of live music in the region and highlights the pioneering work of the University’s Department of Music and Sound Recording.
GuilFest remains an independently run festival with a very friendly atmosphere, held in the beautiful surroundings of Stoke Park, Guildford. This year’s festival takes place on 4th, 5th and 6th July and is headlined by The Levellers, Blondie and The Australian Pink Floyd.
Visitors can expect a weekend of live musical entertainment coupled with comedy, entertainment, street theatre, art/craft exhibitions, and caterers from around the world providing a variety of meals in a truly festive family atmosphere. The University of Surrey will also be running the Acoustic Stage and will have an area for members of the public to find out more about it’s extensive range of academic courses and community activities.
With a beer tent and calypso cocktail bar, an extensive KidZone and well maintained toilet trailers, GuilFest caters for young and old alike. All in all, GuilFest has something for everyone with its friendly relaxed vibe and eclectic mix of music and entertainment.
