Surrey’s new MA Law (Senior Status) validated for launch in September 2008
Wednesday 7 May 2008
The School of Law at the University of Surrey recently announced the successful validation and launch of a new MA Law programme and is now recruiting students for entry in September 2008.
This programme offers an exciting opportunity for non-law graduates to progress into a career in law in England and Wales while also obtaining an internationally recognised Master’s level qualification.
As this programme is a Qualifying Law Degree (QLD), successful completion qualifies a student to proceed onto a Legal Practice Course or Bar Vocational Course with a view to becoming a solicitor or a barrister. The course is open to all students with a first degree (second class or above), in any subject, awarded by a UK university or an equivalent qualification from a recognised overseas institution.
The benefits of the programme include the following:
- Two year Master’s programme allowing for in-depth exploration of the foundational legal subjects required for qualification as a barrister or solicitor
- Greater depth of study and international recognition than the Graduate Diploma in Law
- Maximum flexibility to write a supervised research paper in an area of direct relevance to your future career
