Bournemouth’s Christophe Mathers wins election

Monday 28 April 2008

Bournemouth student Christophe Mathers has been elected as the Vice President Sport and Recreation at the University of Surrey Students’ Union.

Christophe (20) won a hard-fought election by running on a manifesto of encouraging all students regardless of ability and experience to take up sports.

Christophe, who was previously a student at Corfe Hills Technical College, is currently in his final year studying Chemistry. He has always been a keen footballer but likes a challenge so took up Rugby on coming to Surrey. Rising through the ranks until this year he was elected 1st Team Rugby Captain.
