Tuesday 29 January 2008
The University of Surrey Students' Union will play host to a Chinese New Year Celebration on Wednesday 6 February between 4 p.m. – 8 p.m.
This year’s celebrations will take place in Rubix nightclub. In the afternoon there will be electrifying performances from Chinese lion dancers, jugglers and acrobats. From 8 p.m. the Helen Rose Bar will open with a DJ to welcome in the New Year of the Rat. The event has proved extremely popular in previous years, reputedly becoming the largest celebration of its kind between London and the South coast.
This year’s event is organised by the Students’ Union with assistance from the Chinese Asian Society, the Chinese Students and Scholars Association, and the Guildford Chinese Christian Fellowship.
Tickets are only £2 in advance (£3 on the door) and include your food, as well as a whole afternoon and evening’s worth of entertainment!
Students are available for interview both on and prior to the evening.
