Business Start-up Tips

The University of Surrey invites all those interested in business to attend a free enterprise seminar entitled: Business Start-up Tips. The seminar will be given by David Snell and the Alliotts Team in Room 01AC02, SCEPTrE, AC Building (see www.surrey.ac.uk/sceptre/contact.htm for directions) on Thursday 13 March, 12.30 p.m. – 1.30 p.m.
When you are thinking of starting a business there are so many things to consider that it would be useful to have a check list of all the things that have to be done, what to avoid, how to go about getting the information. Often, through lack of knowledge, an important issue has been neglected and this can be a costly experience. This seminar will help you with that check list and point you in the right direction.
- David Snell: David joined Alliotts Chartered Accountants and Business Advisors in 1991 and is a Partner at the Guildford office and a former Inland Revenue Technical Inspector. His specialist role is in Taxation – capital gains, inheritance and trust taxation, Inland Revenue investigations and international taxation.
- Rosemary Mashford MCIPD: Rosemary is Head of Alliotts Human Resources Service and an Associate of Alliotts Chartered Accountants. She advises clients on all areas of HR, including; lawful methods of recruitment, employee contracts, organisational development, appraisals and dispute resolution.
- Jackie Withey: Jackie is an Associate of Alliotts Chartered Accountants. She is an experienced specialised business advisor to small and medium enterprises, assisting with start ups, business plans, growth and business development strategy.
- Mary Clancy: Mary is a Marketing Manager at Alliotts. She co-ordinates a range of marketing activity to help drive the business forward, including; marketing plans, promotional literature, website and events.
