Surrey Professor appointed editor of the European Journal of Information Systems
Thursday 14 February 2008
Professor Hans van der Heijden, Head of the Division of Management and Professor of Management Information Systems at the School of Management, University of Surrey, has been appointed as Editor of the European Journal of Information Systems (EJIS), an official journal of the Operational Research Society. He joins the editorial team consisting of Professors Ray Paul (Brunel University) and Richard Baskerville (Georgia State University, USA).
The EJIS is recognised by the Association of Information Systems as one of the top six journals in the field of Management Information Systems. The journal is read by Information Systems professionals in industry, commerce, government, and academic departments of management, business and computing. It focuses on the management and use of information systems, rather than the technology underlying the system.
Professor van der Heijden comments: "I am very honoured by this appointment. EJIS is the premier outlet of choice for management information systems research in Europe, with an unmatched reputation for quality and innovation. Together with Professors Paul and Baskerville, I will work hard to ensure that the journal maintains and further develops its high ranking in the league tables."
