Conversation with Wanda Moretti – Founder of ‘Il Posto’ and Vertical Dance Artist

Wanda Moretti, the founder of the ‘Il Posto’ dance company, will be discussing her exciting and varied work with head lecturer Kate Lawrence and Daniella Perazzo, translator and also lecturer at the University, on Monday, February 25 at 7.30 p.m. This event is part of the University of Surrey’s Dance Conversations Season.

Wanda Moretti developed her artistic work and research on the body and movement in relation to works of art, installations, ropes, fabric, ‘machines’ and urban and natural architecture. She is a founding member of the DES – National Association of Dance Education School in Italy, where she works to maintain a high level of dance activities in curricular and extra-curricular activities for all school children. Wanda teaches and conducts educational and training courses, as well as choreography for dance companies, schools, museums and institutions.

Wanda Moretti is also the founder of the ‘Il Posto’ dance company, established in 1994, and based in Venice, Italy. This is where her special interest in vertical dance can be utilised with her interest in site-specific pieces, and her interest in the use of space and the body.
