Ann Elliott to give Surrey Sculpture Society Lecture at the University of Surrey

Ann Elliott will give this year’s Surrey Sculpture Society Lecture at the University of Surrey on Wednesday 26 November at 7:30 p.m.

Anne is a curator, who organises exhibitions and manages a portfolio of visual arts projects. Her wide ranging clients include private collectors, the corporate sector, museums and galleries, local authorities and cultural organisations. She recently curated the 2D-3D exhibition at the Lightbox in Woking, where she sits on the Exhibitions Advisory Committee.

She devises a programme of exhibitions for Canary Wharf Limited at One Canada Square and Jubilee Park, and is a director of Sculpture Exhibitions Limited which delivers exhibitions for Lewes District Council. These occasional exhibitions have included Rodin in Lewes; A Sculptor’s Development: Anthony Caro; Henry Moore Land+Sea; and With the Grain, Wood Sculpture by David Nash.

Ann is a Board Member of ArtPoint, Trustee of Ironbridge Open Air Museum of Steel Sculpture, Trustee of the Gabo Trust for Sculpture Conservation, and is on the Fabric Committee of Portsmouth Cathedral.

Writer of numerous catalogue essays and contributions to books on British sculptors, Ann has also written two substantial books on private collections. Her lecture will illustrate various aspects of the curator’s role exploring interactions with artists, galleries, collectors and the authorities involved in public arts projects.

Tickets, which are available on the door, are free to students and Surrey Sculpture Society members and £3 for everyone else.
