Student satisfaction continues to rise at University of Surrey...
Thursday 6 August 2009
The University of Surrey saw further improvement in the assessment of student experience today, with Overall Satisfaction showing at 85% following publication of the 2009 National Student Survey.
Surrey is pleased to note rises in opinion through which it becomes one of the UK’s top 40 universities for student approval. Nearly half of subject areas scored over 90% in overall satisfaction, while Civil Chemical, other Engineering (Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering and Medical Engineering) Sociology, Economics and Computer Science all scored over 95% in the category - thereby showing improvements of between 4 and 12% from the 2008 Survey.
The University is committed to achieving the best possible student experience. Following an improvement programme in recent years, Surrey launched its Student Experience Strategy in 2008, addressing all aspects of student life at the University and aiming to bring about very high levels of satisfaction.
Commenting on the results, University of Surrey Vice-Chancellor, Professor Christopher Snowden, said: "I am delighted to see continued progress and in particular to see an increasing number of subjects rating satisfaction levels above 90%. This year, two subjects fell just short of 100% satisfaction, reflecting the dedication and effort of our staff and the enthusiasm of our students. We will continue to aim to raise our game in all subject areas to this very high standard."
