Looking back at the Great Look Up...
Tuesday 8 September 2009
The Great Look-Up to the night sky was held at the University of Surrey on the evening of 28th August 2009.
The event - organised in conjunction with the Guildford Astronomical Society - was a huge success, drawing large crowds, knowledgeable and neophyte alike, to ponder a clear sky through an impressive array of telescopes. Highlights of the evening were the passing of a meteorite, the appearance of the Nebulus cluster and the cloud rings of Saturn, clearly visible from 400 million miles away.

The Great Look Up was the first University event to be covered live on Twitter at http://twitter.com/thegreatlookup
