Public Lecture: ‘Self’ in Qur'an and Hadith - The Dynamics of Human Spiritual Development

Monday 19 October 2009

“Human spirituality needs constant motivation and inspiration. But due to the present day mechanical ways of life, spirituality is the most ignored issue,” argues Ali Raza Rizvi. “All the increasing problems today are due to a lack of spirituality”, he continues, “if one can learn how to be in control of his/her SELF then one will learn to solve most of one’s own problems.”

As part of Inter-Faith Week at the University of Surrey, join guest speaker Ali Raza Rizvi on Wednesday 18 November for an insightful look into The Dynamics of Human Spiritual Development.

Ali has served in the Muslim Community as an Imam and Lecturer since 1998 and graduated from Qum. He has translated and written over fifteen books and has travelled around over 25 countries, lecturing in Europe, Asia, North America and Africa.

He has taught at the Hawza Ilmiyyah London for over five years and served at different Islamic Centres as a Resident Aalim. Presently he is the Director and Religious Leader of the Ahlul Bayt (SA) Islamic Centre. Ali is the Founder and Director of The Saviour Foundation and is also on the Board of Directors of Hidayat TV.
