Surrey Maths Challenge
Thursday 12 February 2009
49 teams of sixth form students from 30 schools and colleges across Surrey recently braved snow and freezing temperatures to attend the sixth Annual Surrey Maths Challenge at the University of Surrey. There was a real buzz in the room as the 245 students got to work answering questions.
After and hour and half of intense work from the students, and frantic marking by members of the University’s Department of Mathematics, the top scores were announced. Teams from Caterham School, City of London Freeman’s School and Hurtwood House School had the top three places.
The event was organised by Surrey Education Business Partnership with support from the University's Department of Mathematics.
