Politics and Languages degrees at the University of Surrey
Monday 11 May 2009
The University of Surrey's Department of Politics is pleased to be inviting students to its new International Politics and Languages degrees with specialisations in Spanish, French, German, or English for International Communication (subject to validation).
The new programmes are designed principally for post A-level or equivalent full-time students who are interested in politics and hold A-levels in German, French, or Spanish. In addition students can select a pathway in English for International Communication, which is expected to be of particular interest to international students with a high level of proficiency in English.
The programmes allow students to enhance their study of political phenomena and at the same time to study a language in its socio-political and cultural contexts by completing an academic placement year (at year 3) at an institution of the country related to their focus of study.
Students are required to have typical A-level grades of BBB (300 points). There is no requirement for A-Levels in Politics, but a Grade B is required for the appropriate language at A-Levels or equivalent. An IELTS of 6.5 or equivalent is also required.
