Media Invitation: An Evening with Clarissa Dickson-Wright
Monday 11 May 2009
Members of the media are cordially invited to the Faculty of Management and Law Annual Public Lecture entitled 'An Evening with Clarissa Dickson-Wright', to be held at the University of Surrey on Tuesday 09 June, 6:15 p.m 8:00 p.m.
Born into a home where eating caviar and pheasant shooting were the norm and pigeons were flown in from Cairo for supper, Clarissa Dickson-Wright was no stranger to good food as a child. After being called to the bar aged 21 Clarissa practised successfully as a barrister for several years, before settling on cooking as her true calling. She ran her own catering business, cooked on a yacht in the Caribbean and served 60 meals a day at her London luncheon club. It’s unlikely we’ll see her cooking on our screens again, but there is now the opportunity to see Clarissa speak in person about her colourful life and career to date when she visits the University of Surrey.
