Surrey Sports Park launches new courses programme

Surrey Sports Park is excited to announce the launch of its April programme of courses which members and public will be able to book from Monday 22 March.

The new April programme truly offers something for everyone. Group fitness classes, Les Mills classes, dance courses, well-being courses, squash and tennis courses, swimming lessons and a variety of under 16s activities are all available to pre-book ready for Surrey Sports Park opening next month.

The multi-million pound Surrey Sports Park, which is owned by the University of Surrey, is due to open on Monday 19 April, and will be one of the premier training facilities ahead of the London 2012 Olympics.

Courses start on Monday 26 April and bookings open from Monday 22 March. More information on the range of courses and classes available, including dates, times and prices can be found at surreysportspark.co.uk, where programmes can also be downloaded.

To book on to a course call 01483 689111. Surrey Sports Park’s Front of House will also be available to make a booking in person on Saturday 27 March, 9.30 a.m. – 4.30 p.m.

Highlights of the new programme include ‘Learn to Swim’ and the most extensive range of adult and junior dance courses in Surrey.

Surrey Sports Park’s Learn to Swim programme is a strategic partnership with Guildford City Swimming Club – Number 1 Swimming Club in Surrey & the South East. Highly motivated, professionally qualified ASA teachers from Guildford City Swimming Club deliver courses following the ASA National Plan for Teaching Swimming with a caring and dedicated approach.

Surrey Sports Park, Head of Sport, Exercise and Dance, Gavin Baker, said: “Our new programme is dedicated to providing a diverse range of fun and healthy activities which aim to engage the entire community. We have ensured all courses and instructors meet the high standards set by the fantastic facilities on offer at Surrey Sports Park, and I am certain everyone will find something to get involved with and enjoy at this world class sports and leisure complex.”

Surrey Sports Park’s state-of-the-art facilities include Surrey’s first 50 metre indoor swimming pool, three multi-purpose sports halls, four premier dance and exercise studios, eight outdoor floodlit tennis courts, two floodlit artificial grass pitches and an 120 station health and fitness suite.

The Surrey Sports Park has already been registered as a suitable training venue for the Olympic and Paralympic Games in 2012 but as well as catering for elite athletes it will also provide the best and most up to date sport and facilities for anyone interested in sport and fitness everyone.
