University of Surrey hosts Earth Day fair

Tuesday 13 April 2010

To celebrate the 40th anniversary of Earth Day, the University of Surrey will be hosting the ‘Lost Generation Exhibition: Earth Day 2010’ on Thursday 22 April.

The exhibition will be open to the public from 12.30pm-6.30pm in the Austin Pearce Lecture Theatres 3 and 4 on the University campus.

Exhibitors will include Fairtrade Guildford, Guildford Borough Council, the Centre for Environmental Strategy here at the University and demonstrations from the South East Physics Network and the exhibits will range in content from providing water to disaster areas, to promoting the benefits of Fairtrade.

Key elements of the exhibit include highlighting the university's carbon reduction strategies and links with the Surrey Space Centre.

Earth Day is a pivotal opportunity for people, corporations, and governments to join together to create a global green economy. The University of Surrey strongly believes that Higher Education Institutions, with a reputation for innovative research designed to improve the world that we live in, should work closely with organisations such as this.
