Final Year Music Students at the University of Surrey present their final recitals
Friday 4 June 2010
On Wednesday 09 and Thursday 10 June, students specialising in performance from the Department of Music and Sound Recording, University of Surrey, will perform their final degree recitals. Taking place over two days at PATS Studio One on the University’s Stag Hill Campus, these four concerts are all free and open to the public.
Varying in repertoire and instrumentation from one performer to the next, the concerts will feature classical, jazz and rock styles, with students performing on instruments as diverse as violin, flute, electric guitar and drum kit. The standard of final year students is always high, after three years of study on their chosen instrument, and these free concerts offer members of the University and Guildford community a great opportunity to visit the University campus to hear students just before they embark on their musical careers. Each concert will last approximately three hours but audience members may come and go between performers, so please feel free to come and see as little or as much as you’re able.
The four sessions are on Wednesday 09 June, 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m., 6:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m., and Thursday 10 June, 10.40 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.
Admission is free and no ticket is required. For further details on students and their performance times, please visit: www.surrey.ac.uk/arts/music. For any other enquiries, please contact Jamie Harber on 01483 686 517.
