Surrey Sports Park set to host free tennis ‘Wimbledon Weekend’ tennis event - 03-04 July
Monday 28 June 2010
Fresh from the success of their star-studded ‘Summer of Sport Launch Day’ last month, the Summer of Sport in association with Penningtons Solicitors LLP continues at Surrey Sports Park with a free ‘Wimbledon Weekend’ tennis event this weekend.
The event on Saturday 03 and Sunday 04 July offers members of the public the opportunity to have a taste of the new outdoor, floodlit tennis facilities at Surrey Sports Park, and try a host of free tennis activities. Guests can also watch the highly anticipated Women’s and Men’s finals live in their new on-site sports bar, ‘the bench’, after a morning of free activities.
Qualified tennis coaches and instructors will be on hand throughout the sessions to offer advice and tips, whilst the free tennis activities start from 10: 00 a.m. Saturday morning. Activities including junior tournaments, coached junior group sessions and matchplay tips will run from 10:00 a.m. – 1:30 p.m., whilst free court hire is available between 1:30 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. (limited availability). Guests can also take advantage of free tennis court hire on Sunday morning between 9:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. (limited availability), before taking to 'the bench' bar to watch the Men’s final live.
More details of the Wimbledon Weekend event including specific times can be found at www.surreysportspark.co.uk. The day is free for everyone to attend although spaces are limited for each activity, and will be organised on a first-come-first-play basis.
