Electronics expert Professor Ravi Silva to lecture at the Royal Society

The prestigious 2011 Clifford Paterson Lecture at the Royal Society will be given by Professor Ravi Silva in October for his outstanding contributions to basic science and engineering in the field of carbon nanoscience and nanotechnology.
Prof Silva, Director of the Advanced Technology Institute and head of the Nanoelectronics Centre at the University of Surrey, is a very accomplished academic. In 2003 he was awarded the Albert Einstein Silver Medal by UNESCO. He is a Fellow of the Royal Academy of Engineering and a Fellow of the National Academy of Sciences, Sri Lanka.
Admission free – no ticket or advance booking required. Doors open at 5.45pm on October 15 at the Royal Society in Westminster and seats will be allocated on a first-come-first-served basis. For further information see: RoyalSociety.org
