University appoints new Pro Vice-Chancellor (International Relations)

Professor Vince Emery has been appointed as the University of Surrey's new Pro Vice-Chancellor (International Relations).
Professor Emery is currently Pro-Provost (Africa and the Middle East), a Vice Head of the Graduate School and Professor of Virology at University College London. Professor Emery holds a First Class BSc Honours degree in Biochemistry and a PhD from the University of Southampton.
Professor Emery will be joining the University of Surrey towards the end of September, when in addition to his role as Pro Vice-Chancellor (International Relations) he will also hold a Chair in Translational Virology.
Commenting on the appointment, Professor Sir Christopher Snowden, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Surrey, said: "I'm delighted that we have secured Vince's appointment for the University. He brings with him many years experience in the international arena from his work at UCL and he is well placed to deliver our International Relations strategy and to lead it through the next stage of its development."
