University to host seminar on infectious equine diseases

Thursday 24 January 2013

The University of Surrey will host a seminar on emerging and re-emering infectious equine diseases which will appeal to all those involved in equine related clinical disease diagnosis, control and research.

Equine infectious diseases are important both from a welfare and economical perspective. Our knowledge and understanding of a wide range of equine infectious diseases continues to increase. However, despite these advances in our knowledge the control of many important infectious diseases of horses remain challenging. Furthermore, a number of significant infectious diseases have both emerged and re-emerged over the past decade. In the UK alone we have seen equine infectious anemia, equine viral arteritis and contagious equine metritis in the past year.

In 2014 the University of Surrey will launch a new world-class School of Veterinary Medicine, constructed around the theme that human and animal is intrinsically linked.

There will be a charge of £120 for attendance. Places are limited, so early registration is recommended.
