World Cancer Day 2013: Dispel the myths, get the facts

The University of Surrey will celebrate World Cancer Day on Monday 4 February. The statistics tell us that one in three people is likely to suffer from cancer in their lifetime. However, millions are now surviving the disease thanks to advances in science and medicine, according to Hardev Pandha, the University of Surrey's professor of medical oncology.
A free public meeting will be held at the University campus for patients and carers who wish to find out more about the enormous progress made in cancer research, clinical trials and patient care by the University of Surrey and St Luke’s Cancer Centre.
