A short biography of Dr K. Gouder:

Dr Gouder obtained his undergraduate degree from the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Malta where he graduated summa cum laude. After a period of two years working at a power plant as an Operations Engineer, and as a Programme Committee Member in the EU FP6 Programme Committee Meetings in Brussels, he subsequently studied for his MSc in CFD and PhD in Experimental Fluid Mechanics at the Department of Aeronautics, Imperial College under the supervision of Professor Jonathan F. Morrison.

He subsequently spent 8 months as a post-doctoral researcher with the Biomedical Flows Research Group under the supervision of Professor Denis J Doorly, investigating flows in the human airways, which collaboration is still active. Dr Gouder now holds a post-doctoral position with Professor Michael Graham investigating, experimentally and computationally, the control of flutter and buffeting of long-span suspension bridge decks.
