Royal Academy of Engineering/Rolls-Royce Senior Research Fellow in Computational Engineering
Friday 6 November 2009
We are delighted to announce that Dr Nick Hills has just been awarded a 5 year Fellowship to enable him to pursue research into virtual engine modelling.
Nick is part of the Rolls-Royce Thermo-Fluid Systems University Technology Centre, located in the Division of Mechanical, Medical, and Aerospace engineering. A major goal of the research is the development of a virtual gas turbine engine that can be used by Rolls-Royce to enhance their engine design. This builds on Nick's expertise in massively parallel computing and high fidelity computational fluid dynamics and should result in ground breaking large scale virtual engine demonstrations.
