Congratulations to Jonny Tye (Level 1 Mechanical Engineering) who recently represented Great Britain in the Canoe Marathon World Championships in Singapore and came away with two silver medals. He took part in both singes and doubles events, both of which involve a distance of 21.5 km, made up of 5 laps with 5 portages (running carrying the boat!). In the singles class Jonny was only beaten to the gold medal in a close sprint finish over the last 50m,  and now ranks second in the world at U18 level; he and his team mate also came in second in the doubles.
