MES students shine at the IMechE 25th Annual Medical Engineering Student Project Competition

Rita Morgado da Silva, Alex Humphries and Johanna-Marie Best represented the Department of Mechanical Engineering Sciences at the IMechE 25th Annual Medical Engineering Student Project Competition that took place at the IMechE Headquarters in London on 28th February 2013.


Graduate Samantha Simons wins the prestigious IET Dennis Hill award

Samantha Simons, a graduate of the MEng programme in Medical Engineering at the University of Surrey has won the prestigious IET Dennis Hill award for her final year project “Multiscale Entropy Analysis of the Electroencephalogram in Alzheimer’s Disease”.


Graduate Alex Humphries wins an educational award from the British Medical Laser Association

Congratulations to recent MES graduate Alex Humphries on winning an Educational Award from the British Medical Laser Association for his final year project, "Modelling Q-switched Nd:YAG laser treatment for tattoo removal using finite element analysis”. Alex is now doing a PhD in the department with Dr. Aliah Shaheen.
