Surrey Tonmeister graduates are James Bond’s secret ‘Skyfall’ weapon

Movie fans are flocking to the cinema to watch Skyfall, the latest all-action James Bond mission starring Daniel Craig and Judi Dench. With a highly rated theme song by Adele, the legendary 007 ditty and an amazing soundtrack, the film is a real treat for the ears as well as the eyes.

Here at the University of Surrey we are delighted to note that no fewer than five graduates from our Sound Recording (Tonmeister) degree programme worked on Skyfall, a source of great pride for everyone in the School of Arts.

Our University of Surrey Skyfall mini-credits list is:

  • Tony Lewis - Music Editor
  • Dave Moore - Assistant Music Editor
  • Tony Hulbert - Assistant Scoring Engineer
  • Paul Paragon - Sound Mixer (Splinter Unit)
  • Robert Karlsson - Dolby Consultant

We congratulate them all on a wonderful job.

Our prestigious Sound Recording (Tonmeister) degree is the only one of its kind in the country, mixing audio engineering, sound recording and music study. A Professional Training placement year provides the opportunity to put learning into practice in professional settings, to acquire eye-catching experience and to start building a vital network of contacts.

This ensures that our students master the technical, creative and professional skills required for careers in exciting, competitive fields such as music, television, cinema and other related media industries.
