Barbican Centre's PitLAB scheme
Tuesday 29 January 2013
Tom Armstrong, lecturer and Programme Director in the Department of Music and Sound Recording, has successfully obtained a place on the Barbican Centre's PitLAB scheme. He will be using this opportunity to undertake development sessions for his new multimedia work, Athena and Arachne, from 11-13 February
The project involves the singers Melanie Pappenheim and Rebecca Askew (both members of The Shout) and harpsichordist Jane Chapmen, a renowned exponent of new music. The music is being composed collaboratively with Jeevan Rai, a Masters graduate from the Department of Music and Sound Recording who is now doing a PhD in the Maths Department.
