Research Project

Relative importance of timbral and spatial fidelity in automotive sound quality evaluation

Kathryn Beresford
Francis Rumsey
Slawek Zielinski

The research to be conducted by Kathryn will revolve around the importance of timbral and spatial fidelity of audio replayed in an automotive environment. This will focus around the current reference/preference debate which is at the forefront of today's automotive industry.

Certain areas of interest from her undergraduate project, which looked at listener opinions of multichannel classical music, may be incorporated into this research. The idea of purchasability was central to this project and could be linked to consumer preferences in automotive contexts.
