Open Days

Travel and parking on Open Days

It's best to travel to our Open Days by public transport, if possible, as car parking at the University is extremely limited.

Travelling by train

Direct trains from London Waterloo to Guildford station take as little as 34 minutes.

Once you arrive in Guildford, hop on our Open Day shuttle bus or take a 15-minute walk to the Piazza on our Stag Hill campus, where many Open Day activities take place.

View more information about getting here by train, including walking directions from the station or watch a video of the walk from the train station to the main campus.

Search for train times and tickets on the National Rail Enquiries website.

Free campus shuttle bus

Open Day shuttle buses between Guildford station and Stag Hill campus run from 8am to 4:30pm.

Shuttle buses between Stag Hill campus and Manor Park campus, where you’ll find Surrey Sports Park, our newest student accommodation and the Vet School, run every 10 minutes from 8:10am to 4:25pm.

Open Day parking

We have a very limited amount of Open Day parking on our sites and expect our car parks to be full soon after opening. Roads around the campus are also likely to be very busy.

We recommend that you use public transport to travel to Guildford and the University instead of coming by car.

If you do need to drive, there are several pay-and-display car parks (PDF) a short walk from our Stag Hill campus (where the majority of Open Day activities take place). Visitors will be directed to these once the University car parks are full, so please bring parking change with you.

If you are using a sat nav, the postcode for the Stag Hill campus is GU2 7JP.

Please let us know if you have any particular accessibility requirements so we can ensure you get the most out of your day.

View the town centre car parks map (PDF) and find out more about travelling to the Stag Hill campus.

Vet School Open Day parking

Open Day parking for disabled visitors

While parking at the University of Surrey is extremely limited, a number of disabled parking spaces are available for Open Day visitors with disabilities or special access requirements.

If you need a disabled parking space, please ask a member of our security team or a parking marshal when you arrive at the main Stag Hill campus car park. They'll then direct you to the most suitable place to park.

If you're visiting the Vet School Open Day, please speak to a parking marshal in the Manor Farm car park.

Luggage

Unfortunately, we are unable to store luggage in any of our buildings during Open Days.
