How you can help
We are keen to ensure our students’ time with us is as rewarding and problem-free as possible, but we recognise that starting out on a university education can present a number of challenges.
These web pages are intended to provide you with the reassurance that your son or daughter’s interests and well-being are our priority.
We also hope they will provide a useful resource to you in helping support your son or daughter during their time with us.
A note on privacy
We treat our students as autonomous adults. Our primary concern and responsibility is to support their well-being, interests, welfare and right to privacy. This means that unless we have specific and explicit permission, we only communicate and liaise directly with students and not via a third party. The disclosure of personal and/or sensitive information, without a student’s consent, breaches their legal right to confidentiality.
We are committed to compliance with the Data Protection Act 1998. The advice given in these web pages is formulated in conjunction with the University’s own data protection policy and other relevant policies relating to confidentiality of personal information. These are available to view here.
