This two-day event is designed to showcase the excellent and diverse postgraduate research actively being pursued at the University of Surrey. To ensure that your work is included in the 3rd PGR Conference, please submit an abstract for an oral, poster or performance presentation by following the link below:

To maximise the impact of your topic, take advantage of the Researcher Development Programme training workshop on writing a successful abstract for a multidisciplinary audience. Writing an Abstract for the PGR Conference runs on 4th and 12th October. Please use the link below to register for this valuable workshop:

Abstracts will be reviewed by a cross-faculty team and you will be informed if your abstract has been accepted by 19th November 2012.

 

Abstract Criteria

  • Maximum of 200 words
  • Accessible to both specialists and non-specialists in the field: contextualized results are far more interesting and relevant than detailed methodology.
  • Focus on the ‘big picture’ in order to demonstrate the relevance, application and impact of your work beyond academia.
  • Performance presentations offer the opportunity to highlight research into topics such as movement and musical composition through the use of recordings, videos and live performance.  

Reviewing Criteria

Your abstract should answer the following questions:

  • What is novel/innovative about the work?
  • What is the importance/relevance of the key findings?
  • How is the work applicable beyond academia?
