The University of Surrey's Astrophysics research group started in 2013, and will teach the new "Physics with Astronomy" course starting in September 2013
The research focuses on solving key problems in modern astrophysics: How do stars and galaxies form? What are dark matter and dark energy? How did the Milky Way form and evolve? And how did supermassive black holes form?
The staff expertise is in computational and theoretical astrophysics and observational astronomy
We are in the process of building a teaching and outreach telescope on one of the buildings on the Stag Hill Campus
