  • The University of Surrey's Astrophysics research group started in 2013, and will teach the new "Physics with Astronomy" course starting in September 2013
  • The research focuses on solving key problems in modern astrophysics: How do stars and galaxies form? What are dark matter and dark energy? How did the Milky Way form and evolve? And how did supermassive black holes form?
  • The staff expertise is in computational and theoretical astrophysics and observational astronomy
  • We are in the process of building a teaching and outreach telescope on one of the buildings on the Stag Hill Campus
