All academics and PhD students are invited to SEPnet's second regional conference for physicists in the region to share the research sponsored by SEPnet.
Scientists from all over the South East will be sharing their research and news through the video-conferencing facilities provided by SEPnet.
The theme will be sharing the SEPnet research so far and will involve an opening keynote by Professor James Stirling, Head of the Cavendish Laboratory at Cambridge and Jacksonian Professor of Natural Philosophy. Professor Stirling also chairs the SEPnet Scientific Advisory Panel and his keynote will focus on the emerging landscape of physics research, how science works through collaboration and provide insights for early career researchers. He will be connected from Cambridge by videoconference.
Professor Stirling will be followed by presentations from the SEPnet Research Themes with an introductory speaker from each theme and two second year SEPnet funded PhD students from each theme discussing the status of their research so far and their experiences of collaborating.
This is a great opportunity for all physics researchers across the region to gain an appreciation of the breadth and depth of the research in the SEPnet research themes, see opportunities to collaborate and to enable research students to showcase their work so far. Further details available here.
More details will be published as we get closer to the event and we will be keeping everyone informed via SEPnet’s Facebook Group, see here.
