IOP Insight into Teaching

Love Physics? Pass on the passion. Teach!
Short presentations will be given from a Regional Lead from the Teaching Agency (TA) who will discuss the various routes into teaching, a PGCE provider discussing what to expect in a PGCE course and a recently qualified physics teacher talking about their experiences as a new physics teacher as well as providing plenty of opportunities for questions.
The main objectives are as follows:
• To raise awareness of a career in teaching physics
• To promote the benefits of a teaching career
• To reveal the teacher training routes and associated applications and funding processes
• To provide insight into a PGCE course
• To detail how IOP supports trainee teachers
• To provide information on the IOP £20 000 Teacher Training Scholarships
