Professor Stephen Hawking public lecture, 8.30pm Wednesday, 20th October 2010 at the Royal Albert Hall
16 members of PhySoc will be attending this extremely rare public lecture, from one of the world’s greatest thinkers, Professor Stephen Hawking who will discuss his new book The Grand Design in which the most recent scientific thinking about the mysteries of the universe is presented in language marked by both brilliance and simplicity. The lecture will be chaired by Physics academic Professor Jim Al-Khalili. Further details available here.
Ticket prices include a copy of The Grand Design (Bantam Press - £18.99) to be collected on the night.
PhySoc is an opt-in society that aims to represent all Physics students, staff and anyone interested in science. Their manifesto includes organizing social events and trips, as well as reaching out to a wider audience to get the public interested in physical sciences.
