Sandwich years in degrees gain popularity
Monday 20 September 2010
A recent survey by Universities UK (the umbrella body for British universities) and the CBI found that 23% of students surveyed across all universities would have done a sandwich year if possible. A sandwich year is a year working in a company during the degree. It boosts the employment prospects of the student - the student gains valuable experience and a a reference from a company. If you subscribe to the Times Higher Education Supplement you can read a story on this, or you can read the press release. All students in the Department are offered a sandwich year, which we call a Professional Training Year.
